In Loving Memory of Lynda Garner – 2019
Lynda began her professional career by embracing her nurturing qualities and she went to work at McMaster as a nurse practitioner for two decades before becoming an entrepreneur.
In 1979, an innovator at heart, she created the Golden Earth Garlic Bread label. The brand, was the first flavoured garlic bread ever to be sold as a packaged frozen item in the Canadian marketplace. Exceptional quality and consistency were the hallmarks of the brand. Lynda was singlehandedly able to forge a strong presence in retailers across the nation throughout the 1980s a remarkable feat at the time in an industry that is still today largely run exclusively by men.
